(Cincinnati, Ohio) In August, a 27-year-old local woman, Kenya Gilliam, was convicted on six counts of rape of a child younger than 13.
As a result, Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Jody Luebbers imposed six sentences of life in prison for Gilliam.
Gilliam's attorney asked for a lesser sentence, arguing that Gilliam has been abused as a child and ostracized because she is gay.Obviously, Gilliam won't be molesting any boys from now on.
"She has been through a meat grinder," attorney Adam Bleile said. "She has been through an awful life."
That was no excuse to perhaps continue the cycle with her victim, the judge said, saying she imposed the maximum sentence possible as her attempt to end that cycle.
