Tennessee Teacher and Student

(Henderson, Tennessee) A 37-year-old English teacher at Chester County High School, Amy Lynn Howell, has been accused of sex crimes against a student.

Howell faces charges of sexual battery by an authority figure and statutory rape by an authority figure.

Chester County School Superintendent Cherrie Pipkin said she was told a teacher and a student were sexually involved and she immediately reported the allegation to the county sheriff's office.

Howell has been suspended without pay, pending the outcome of charges against her.

Howell was booked into custody at the Chester County Jail and released on $10,000 bond.
