Aussie Woman Gets No Jail for Sex with Boy

(Adelaide, South Australia) A 39-year-old local woman, Nicole Webster, has been sentenced for engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy. Judge David Lovell gave Webster a 12-month term in prison and then suspended it.

The relationship between Webster and the boy lasted for six months, from November 2008 to April 2009.

Webster claimed that she didn't know the boy's age until later in the relationship and Judge Lovell believed her.

Judge Lovell also believed that Webster was very sorry and had a "hard life" which caused her to consume alcohol and cannabis simply to cope with psychological stresses.

Judge Lovell also understood that she suffered from low self image which made her susceptible to the attentions of the boy.

Additionally, Judge Lovell realized the depression and mood disorder Webster endured as a result of her prosecution.

In the end, Judge Lovell decided that Webster's suffering warranted recuperation for five days on the island of Bali, paid for using a special government account providing airfare, hotel and $500 spending money.

Given the nature of the purported 'prosecution' of Webster, I got on a roll and made up the previous paragraph. Ignore it.
