Pennsylvania Teacher Accused of Student Sex
(Bangor, Pennsylvania) A 25-year-old teacher at Bangor Area High School, Rachel L. Farrell, has been
accused of engaging in sex with several 17-year-old male students, according to Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.
Farrell faces three counts of corruption of minors.
The district attorney's office opened its own investigation, and one student told authorities he knew Farrell as his 11th-grade teacher, but they began to communicate over Facebook and exchange text messages. The relationship eventually became physical, and Farrell repeatedly booked rooms at the Tannersville Ramada Inn for sex, documents say.
The student, identified only as G.R. in court documents, said they also drove to secluded spots and had sex in cars. At least one of the encounters occurred while the two were in a car in the Wal-mart parking lot off Route 248 in Lower Nazareth Township, according to documents.
Farrell was booked into custody and released on $5,000 bail.
