KY Teacher Indicted on Sex Charge
[Previous 5/11/12 post]
(Ft. Thomas. Kentucky) A 33-year-old accounting and finance teacher at Highlands High School, Andrea Conners, has resigned amid suspicion of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

Connors, a married mother of two young boys, has been indicted on a charge of first-degree sex abuse stemming from a relationship during October and November 2011. According to defense attorney Lisa Wells, possible sentences include:
"It's 1 - 5 years and most judges are not gonna probate a sex offender so in the event she were to go to trial a jury would have to give her a minimum of one year because they can't probate that sentence either. But usually if you plead in front of a judge on a sex offense you're gonna get actual jail time. Maybe, maybe a split sentence if the victim were to speak on her behalf she could get 5 yrs probated and only serve six months but it's been my experience, especially in Campbell County, if it's a sex offense and you're pleading guilty to it you should expect to serve some jail time," she said.
No details available on arrest.
