(Wayne County, Michigan) In accordance with a plea deal, 37-year-old teacher Andrea Deanna Brennan pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of using a computer to commit a crime.
Brennan was sentenced today to five years probation and she must register as a sex offender.
Charges of providing sexually explicit material and furnishing a minor with alcohol were dismissed.
She was sentenced Tuesday through Michigan's third circuit court by Judge Edward Ewell Jr., according to court records. In addition to five years of probation, she is not allowed to have any unsupervised contact with minors under 16 years old, excluding her own children.A jury trial had been scheduled for January 14.
This means Brennan will be unable to teach at a middle school during the probation.
She was also fined $543, must register as a sex offender, and must attend counseling.

(Wayne County, Michigan) A 37-year-old teacher with the Van Buren Township School District, Andrea Deanna Brennan, has been accused of liquoring up and showing pornography to a boy.
Brennan faces charges of distributing sexually explicit material to a minor, use of a computer to commit a crime and furnishing a minor with alcohol.
Prosecutors said Van Buren Township police were patrolling a softball field in the area of Beck and Ayres at 1:30 a.m. July 10 when they observed a parked car.Brennan was booked into custody with bond set at $10,000.
Officers went over to investigate the car because the area is closed to the public after sun down. Prosecutors said officers found Brennan with a 15-year-old male.
Further investigation revealed Brennan allegedly furnished the 15-year-old with alcohol, distributed sexually explicit material to him and used a computer to distribute the material.
