Mideast Embassies Attacked

Besides conventional media sources, I've been following the Mideast turmoil via entries at the Gateway Pundit, The Jawa Report, Armies of Liberation and miscellaneous other blogs. The situation is fluid and I suggest the blogosphere is quicker in breaking news.

Latest reporting indicates that embassies in Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia and Sudan have been attacked by Islamists.

I would suggest more attacks cannot be ruled out since the administration appears to be reacting slowly and low key. Instead of forceful words and actions, the Obama administration seems to be waiting for the protesters to get tired and go home.

(Benghazi, Libya)
Libya closed its air space over Benghazi airport temporarily because of heavy anti-aircraft fire by Islamists aiming at U.S. reconnaissance drones flying over the city, days after the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed in an attack.

The closure of the airport prompted speculation that the United States was deploying special forces in preparation for an attack against the militants who were involved in the attack.

A Libyan official said the spy planes flew over the embassy compound and the city, taking photos and inspecting locations of radical militant groups who are believed to have planned and staged the attack on the U.S. consulate on Tuesday.

Militants used anti-aircraft guns to fire at the drones, forcing the authorities to shut the airport because they feared for the safety of passenger planes.
Are we supposed to believe that spontaneous citizen protesters had anti-aircraft guns at the ready? All because of a film that few, if any, Libyan people have seen?

I don't. The whole episode has the earmarks of being scripted.
