(Muskogee, Oklahoma) A 38-year-old teacher formerly at Wagoner High School, Susan Elizabeth “Beth” Spaulding, has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $142,000 from her former employer over a period of four years.
As a result, Spaulding was given a 10-year deferred sentence. She will be going home to conjure up a way to pay back the money.
She was ordered to pay restitution of the $142,983.60, to attend Gamblers Anonymous and do community service, District 27 Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Milburn said. It's interesting that Spaulding was able to skim such a healthy load of cash and nobody suspected for four years.
Court records state Spaulding will make a one-time payment of $25,983, followed by:
• 36 payments of $500 each month.
• 36 payments of $750 each month.
• 48 payments of $1,500 each month.

I'm betting, ten to one, she won't make it through the 3rd year. I would bet her herself but she will never be able to pay. Anyone else want to place a bet?
