New Mexico Teacher Accused of Sexual Penetration

(Pojoaque, New Mexico) A 31-year-old science teacher at Pojoaque High School, Jennifer Vigil, has been accused of forcing a student to engage in sex.

Vigil faces counts of criminal sexual penetration.

The student told school officials he was coerced into having sex with his teacher. The school called police, who interviewed the student.

Deputies said the student told them the teacher forced him into sex after school when he went to turn in an assignment. Deputies said the student told them Vigil locked the door and said, “You’re not leaving until I get something from you.”

The student told police he resisted, but felt he had no choice but to agree to have oral sex with Vigil. The student showed police a photo of the two engaging in a sex act on his phone.

Vigil was booked into custody at the Santa Fe County Jail without bond.
