Florida Educator Accused in Student Sex Scandal

(Bay County, Florida) The Athletic Director at Arnold High School, Karissa Wesley, has been accused of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Wesley was suspended from her job by Bay District Schools Superintendent Bill Husfelt.
Wesley's career started to unravel two weeks ago when a former Arnold High School teacher sent a letter to the school district.

The e-mail contained a letter from a former student, identified as student #1, that says he and his best friend, student #2, smoked with Wesley and another teacher on multiple occasions, stayed the night and drank with them.

He also says he heard student #2 "pound (Wesley) more than 10 times."

This alleged relationship began in 2011, when the two teenagers were students at Arnold High and before Wesley was named the Athletic Director.

"Mr. Husfelt has suspended the employee with pay and will be recommending her termination at Tuesday's school board meeting," said Sharon Michalik, Executive Director of Human Resources and Employee Support Services.
At present, no criminal charges are anticipated.
