Psychologist Accused of Sex with Patient

(Longview, Washington)
Longview psychologist Karen Ann Pauly has surrendered her license after state health officials accused her of having a sex with a patient, who allegedly gave Pauly $15,000, access to his debit card and prepaid cell phones so they could communicate without his wife knowing about the relationship, the state Department of Health reported Thursday.

According to the allegations, Pauly also supplied the patient with alcohol even though she knew it was not in his best interest, the state alleges.

Pauly surrendered her license rather than contest the state’s allegations, department spokeswoman Sharon Moysiuk said. Pauly, 49, had been licensed to practice psychology in Washington for 10 years, according to state records.
Reportedly, Pauly is now going to pursue a career in the health and fitness field.
