Pussy Riot Band Member Sent to Siberia
(Moscow, Russia) Pussy Riot band member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 23, has been transferred to Prison Colony Number 50 in Siberia. She was mere months of completing her two-year sentence for protesting ties between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Kremlin.
Apparently prompting the transfer, Tolokonnikova complained repeatedly and loudly about the Russian penal system, alleging harassment and "slave labor" conditions.
Presumably, there will be far fewer listeners to hear her complaints 2,800 miles distant in the heart of Siberia.
