Alabama Teacher Gets Prison for Sodomy of Students - Update

(Mobile, Alabama) Former south Alabama substitute teacher Kristina Kelly has pleaded guilty to sodomy for sexually assaulting two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy.

As a result, Kelly has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

(Mobile, Alabama) A 41-year-old teacher who substitutes at Mobile County Public Schools, Kristina Kelly, has been accused of engaging in sex with several middle school students.

Kelly faces eight charges, including rape, sodomy, sex abuse, and sexual contact with a child under the age of 19. The charges indicate at least three alleged victims.

The mother of one of the alleged victims said the teacher appeared to be planning to meet her son, just hours before her arrest.

The mother said she received a call from Denton Middle School Friday.

“They were pretty much saying we need you to come up here, your son is not in trouble, but we need you to come. Nobody would say anything over the phone,” the mother said.

Kelly was booked into custody and released on bond.
