California Mom Sentenced in Sex Case - Update
(Salinas, California) Annette Banda has been sentenced.
On Tuesday she received a suspended prison term of five years and eight months. Banda will also be required to register as a sex offender for life and receive counseling.
In addition to probation, Banda was sentenced to a year in county jail with good time and actual credits of 288 days.If Banda violates her probation terms, she'll likely go to prison.

(Salinas, California) A 50-year-old local mother, Annette Banda aka Annette Vink, has pleaded no contest to charges of unlawful sex with an underage boy hundreds of times.
In accordance with a plea deal, Banda was convicted on four felony lewd acts and one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
"Starting in 2010, Banda, initiated and continued a sexual relationship with a then 14-year-old boy for three years," prosecutor Jeannine Pacioni said Wednesday.Sentencing is scheduled for July 16.
Investigators described Banda as a housewife who is married and has two daughters. Banda met the boy because he hung out with her daughter, according to prosecutors.
