Ebola Outbreak

Nasty goings on.
Aid organisation Doctors Without Borders says an Ebola outbreak suspected of killing at least 78 people in Guinea is an "unprecedented epidemic" that has spread across the west African nation.

"We are facing an epidemic of a magnitude never before seen in terms of the distribution of cases in the country: Gueckedou, Macenta, Kissidougou, Nzerekore, and now Conakry," Mariano Lugli, the organisation's co-ordinator in the Guinean capital, said in a statement on Monday.
Not long ago, Ebola outbreaks garnered considerable media attention along with books and movies. Not so much today.

I seriously wonder how many viral labs are being run in Africa, from all the major players. I think some of the outbreaks are from shoddy work, accidents, or maybe worse. But... that is why they are there, not here, or in Russia, China, or whichever other country has the resources.

Though, it isn't just because Africans are considered expendable, but also because it is the perfect continent for finding, new and wonderful little monsters to... treat... or weaponize.

I understand, I do. But I sometimes really hate understanding.

Really nasty stuff, Google Image search Ebola virus.

There is also a Reston Ebola version that escaped a lab in Reston Virginia, but claimed to only infect monkeys.

Now this one:
