Texas Mom Accused of Poisoning Daughter with Salt

(Houston, Texas) A 31-year-old pediatric nurse, Katie Alice Ripstra, has been accused of feeding her own daughter a dangerous amount of salt causing the child to be hospitalized.

Ripstra faces two counts of injury to a child/serious bodily injury.
A probable cause affidavit says the girl, now 4, suffered a brain injury because of the excessive amount of salt Ripstra fed her.

The girl has since recovered and is no longer in her mother's custody.
Ripstra was booked into custody and released on bond.
