Oklahoma Teacher Accused of Raping Student

(Creek County, Oklahoma) A 25-year-old English teacher at Kellyville High School, Kalyn Darby Thompson, has been accused of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a high school student.

Thompson faces a charge of second-degree rape.
Creek County Detective Chrissie Underwood said she met with Kellyville administrators who told her Thompson was involved with an 18-year-old student. The high school principal said the teacher and student had been exchanging texts "of a sexual nature," and had been seen together outside school - having dinner together and once parked outside a Glenpool business in the student's pickup.

The student's mother also reportedly told investigators the teen admitted to having sex with his teacher at Heyburn Lake in Creek County and again at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa.

Detectives also recovered text messages between the two on their phones. Police say some of those messages were sexual in nature while others mention "getting high" and school grades.

The arrest report states that the student was flunking English last semester but currently has a 98 percent grade point average.
Thompson was booked into custody with bond set at $35,000.
