California Grandma Accused of Child Endangerment

(Idyllwild, California) A 51-year-old local grandmother, Cynthia Watson, has been accused of allowing her 2-year-old granddaughter to drink tea laced with methamphetamine.

Watson faces child endangerment charges.
Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Craig McDonald says the toddler's mother called authorities Monday morning saying the child had not slept and was talking rapidly, scratching, and couldn't sit still.

U-T San Diego reports the girl was taken to a hospital, where it was determined she had meth in her system.

McDonald says investigators found that the grandmother, Cynthia Watson, made a cup of tea the night before and put meth in it "to get herself high." The toddler apparently drank it when the cup was unattended.
Watson was booked into custody with bail set at $35,000.
