Undersea Cables Sliced Open
(Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) Within the last eight months, undersea cables connecting Southeast Asia with the United States were cut. Reportedly, Internet connectivity between Vietnam, Hong Kong and the US was reduced by 40 percent.
The openings in the cables occurred in February, July and September. One open cable was off the coast of Vietnam, another near Hong Kong and the third location was not reported.
Why the cables were severed has not been reported. One must assume it is a common occurrence.

Another one was cut a few years ago, can't remember exactly where.
There are plenty of cables, they just reroute the traffic.
