In case you were wondering ...

Taking low-dose aspirin to prevent heart disease does not help  -- even if you are in an "at risk" category.  A short excerpt from the latest research report below.  The results could not have been more negative:

Low-Dose Aspirin for Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Events in Japanese Patients 60 Years or Older With Atherosclerotic Risk Factors: A Randomized Clinical Trial

The study was terminated early by the data monitoring committee after a median follow-up of 5.02 years (interquartile range, 4.55-5.33) based on likely futility. In both the aspirin and no aspirin groups, 56 fatal events occurred.

Conclusions

Once-daily, low-dose aspirin did not significantly reduce the risk of the composite outcome of cardiovascular death, nonfatal stroke, and nonfatal myocardial infarction among Japanese patients 60 years or older with atherosclerotic risk factors.

Actually, I am beginning to question all heart medicines for some men with specific conditions. I am sure, for some, medicine will work and help them. For some, or many, it won't. I suspect that studies are too broad, that qualifiers are not included, that lumping a dozen or more various causes and paths of a condition into one category is incorrect.

If you have spoken with an half dozen, or more, heart doctors, you realize not only do they not know, they don't agree even with each other. I am probably going to quit taking medication for the heart.

My condition is a bit different. It isn't from artery clogging, or other physical, and ongoing, problems. It was most likely caused by a viral attack thirty years ago. That reduced function to what it has remained since. It did go from 15% r.e. to 20%, over two to three years of medication, but seems to have stopped improving. They might be right about lowering bp and pulse, or not, in my case. But the medicine is about as debilitating as the condition. I'd rather more fully live the remainder of my life, even if they happen to be right, than live another fifty years, barely being able to get out of bed. Choices. Well, and I don't honestly trust them.

In stead of lowering your temperature now, the idea is to give you hydrogen mixed with air to breath.
Some new study was done and it was on the news this morning.
