UK: Blackpool woman, 36, denies threesome with underage boys

A 36-year-old mother took part in a threesome with a 15-year-old boy and his young friend, a court has heard.

Caroline Lea is also alleged to have slept with another 15-year-old boy who thought he was in a relationship with her and is said to have sexually touched a third boy of the same age.

Lea, from Blackpool, Lancashire, denies seven counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child as she went on trial at Preston Crown Court.

Jurors were told the alleged offences took place against a backdrop of her allowing young boys to smoke cannabis and drink alcohol at her then home in the resort.

One of the complainants told police his friend suggested “a three-way” with the defendant and then it “just happened”.

He described how the trio went to the upstairs bedroom of Lea, who then laid on the bed wearing shorts and a vest top.

As the then 15-year-old and his friend sat on her settee for five minutes, he said Lea told them: “Come on boys, I thought you knew what you were doing.”

His friend began kissing her before he joined in as Lea performed oral sex on them both and also had full intercourse with them, the court heard.

Francis McEntee, prosecuting, said the second 15-year-old complainant believed he was in a relationship with the defendant, who is the mother of three sons.

The third complainant, also aged 15, was said to have visited the defendant’s home on a regular basis to smoke cannabis.

He said the defendant “tried it on” with him on her settee while he was “really off his head”.

Wearing just knickers and a T-shirt the defendant rubbed against him and “made it clear she fancied him”, he claimed.

Mr McEntee told the jury: “The complainants and other youths would go to the address and, the prosecution would say, would be permitted to smoke drugs and drink alcohol.

“The prosecution case is that the defendant’s address became something of a dosshouse for young lads.”

He said that police had issued a child abduction notice to the defendant regarding one of the complainants and as a result he was not permitted to stay at her house.

When arrested and interviewed over the sexual allegations, Lea dismissed the threesome claim as “nonsense” and said the second complainant was “infatuated” with her and suggested he was “a little bit not right”.

Lea, of Clifton Drive, Blackpool, denies committing any of the sexual offences said to have taken place on various dates between December 2013 and March 2014.

She has also pleaded not guilty to one count of allowing her home to be used for smoking cannabis and a separate count of supplying a quantity of amphetamines, a Class B drug, to another.
