UK: Woman accused of sexual activity with boy, 14, to stand trial

A WOMAN accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy has pleaded not guilty to the allegation.

Angela Gatt, 37, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (FRI).

She faces one charge of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16 in north Cumbria on 21st June last year.

During a 15-minute hearing before Judge Peter Hughes QC, Gatt spoke only to confirm her name and to deny the allegation.

She will now stand trial at the crown court. This is expected to start on 19th September, with a time estimate of four days.

Neither the 14-year-old alleged victim, nor the precise location of the alleged offence, can be identified for legal reasons.

Gatt, of Dalrymple, Ayr, was remanded on bail by Judge Hughes until her trial date.
