Zorse

Experiments conducted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries produced hybrid equine animals that were half horse and half zebra, the zorse.

Zorse

The zorse is defined as a cross between a zebra and a horse while a crossing of a zebra with a donkey produces a zonkey (or zebrass or zedonk). Zebra hybrids may generally be called zebroids. All hybrids are sterile.

Since zebras are wild animals, they pass on some wild traits to their offspring. Experienced handlers can use zorses for riding and draught work but they are known to be temperamental and aggressive.
