Attempted Honor Killing

(Peoria, Arizona) Police are searching for 48-year-old Faleh Hassan Almaleki for what is described as an attempted honor killing of his daughter, 20-year-old Noor Faleh Almaleki.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki plowed over his daughter and a friend, 43-year-old Amal Edan Khalaf, in a parking lot, inflicting serious harm. Both are hospitalized. The daughter is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Peoria Police Violent Crimes Unit, after talking with family and friends, learned Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, of Glendale was the driver, and that he is the father of Noor Faleh Almaleki.

Those interviewed also told police he was with her as she had become too "westernized" and had made threats toward her....

Since he hasn't been apprehended, it's feared that Faleh Hassan Almaleki will try again. Additionally, friends and relatives are reluctant to discuss the Almaleki family problems in public for fear that he will seek retribution on them.
