Alabama Woman, 34, and Boy, 11

(Mobile County, Alabama) A 34-year-old local woman, Tamara Rowell, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a boy, starting at the age of 11 and continuing until the boy was 14.

Rowell faces two counts of rape. According to Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson,

The victim was no stranger to Rowell. Officials said she was a family friend and used the relationship to gain the little boy's trust.

"The overwhelming majority of cases involve people who have very close access to our children," said Patterson.

Authorities said another child walked in on the sexual activity and reported it to an adult who went to law enforcement and the Child Advocacy Center. Patterson said she wants to bring awareness to the molestation of young boys.

Rowell was booked into custody.
