(Lebanon, KY) Matthew Cooper of Elizabethtown pleaded guilty to 50 counts of child pornography related to carrying images across state lines, and 50 counts related to possession of obscene images. Warren County Common Pleas Judge Neal Bronson sentenced Cooper to three years in prison.
Cooper was arrested in May after he contacted an Akron-area woman through a chat room on the Internet and encouraged her to bring her children to his Monroe hotel room for sex. The woman, whose children were under 12, instead contacted police, who arrested him using a photo profile maintained by the chat room.Here's an example where the justice system fails. Three years in prison will not rehabilitate (this writer does not believe pedophilia is curable) nor adequately punish this pervert. Once released from prison, he'll continue his criminal fetish and there will be future victims. You can count on it.
