Two Solutions to Stray Cat Problem

I just checked the map. Dearborn, Michigan, is about 50 miles from Toledo, Ohio. Being so close, one would imagine that rational, educated adults would decide similarly in solving the problems associated with having a stray cat population. Not so.

In Dearborn, the cats are killed, if homes are not found.

In Toledo, the cats are given taxpayer-funded health care and released back to their neighborhood.

It would be nice if Dearborn's caring cat lovers could just take their strays to Toledo, but it's not possible. One of the reasons given for providing taxpayer-funded health care to Toledo's strays is to assure that they are robust, healthy, and capable of defending their turf from invading strays.

My take is that I derive little comfort that Toledo is the only place in the United States that implements a program to stop illegal aliens. And it's for cats only.
