Project BioShield
President Bush proposed Project BioShield to provide appropriate responses to all forms of biological terrorism. The project is needed to address threats from agents like anthrax, botulinum toxin, Ebola, and plague. It also includes funds for vaccines and therapies, hiring of technical expertise, and research and development of medical countermeasures. Almost unanimous agreement on the need for Project BioShield was expressed by the 99 U.S. Senators who voted for it.
Only one Senator failed to support Project BioShield, John Kerry. Apparently, Sen. Kerry has a different and better plan. Oddly, he wasn't able to get any other Senators to support his position. Not one.
