Crime Scene Investigation

(Newport News, Virginia) The investigation of the death determined that drowning was not the cause since no liquid was found in the lungs. There was also no indication that the flesh of the body had been subjected to high temperatures. Therefore it was concluded that the specific cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head resulting in a fractured skull.

Subsequently, Carla Patterson, 36, and her son Ricky Lee Patterson, 20, were arrested to face charges of attempted extortion and conspiracy to commit a felony for placing the mouse in their soup at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. After booking, they were released on their own recognizance. A court hearing is scheduled for June 15.

My take is that incidents of this nature should be considered serious and perpetrators should be treated harshly. Businesses have enough headaches without having to worry about Mickey Mouse scams also.
