Hurricane Frances

Here's the latest news on Hurricane Frances as of 9pm EDT.
- Landfall is predicted for 6pm Saturday near Vero Beach, Florida.

- Frances is expected to dump 20 inches of rain.

- Storm surges of 5 to 10 feet predicted.

- Over 2.5 million people have been evacuated.

- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has mobilized 4,500 workers.
Ominously, the storm is moving very slowly over open water, which tends to increase its strength.
