(Amesville, Ohio) Flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan caused 115 students and about 30 staff to be stranded at the Amesville Elementary School Friday night. The situation sounds maybe a bit worse than it actually was.
[S]chool cooks made pizza, nachos and cookies for the students and about 30 employees at Amesville Elementary.Sounds more like a massive slumber party than an emergency.
Students in preschool through fifth grade stayed busy by playing bingo and attending a dance before going to sleep about 10 p.m. on carpeted classroom floors, wrapped in blankets that the Red Cross brought in by boat, said school librarian Patti McKibben.
