Rubbish Started Humming Furiously

Here's an addition to the growing list of unpleasant aspects of air travel. Earlier today, the airport terminal in Mackay, Australia, was evacuated and flights were disrupted for an hour after it was noticed that a strange humming noise was coming from a trash can. According to cafeteria manager Lynne Bryant,

"It was rather disconcerting when the rubbish bin started humming furiously," she said.

The emergency was terminated and flights resumed when it was found that the suspected bomb was an adult novelty device. Maybe there should be a sign.

Note to Travelers: Make sure all electric moments are exhausted prior to discarding personal relaxation equipment in airport terminals.
