Nuke Plant May Face Federal Charges

From a Cleveland Plain Dealer report:
FirstEnergy Corp.'s nuclear operating company is the target of a federal grand jury and could be indicted because its top officials allegedly lied to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission about the condition of the Davis-Besse reactor three years ago, the company said Friday.

The utility said it had received a letter earlier in the day from the U.S. attorney's office here indicating "it is likely that federal charges will be returned against the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. by the grand jury."
Frankly, if the utility lied, there should be harsh punishment. It probably wouldn't hurt to also get rid of the prevaricators.
