Chernobyl Children's Project Banned by President of Belarus
Seriously ill young victims of the Chernobyl nuclear accident have been banned from participating in the Chernobyl Children's Project which has charitably relieved some of their suffering by giving them vacations in England. Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, an old-style Soviet communist, has ruled that cancer victims of the nuclear tragedy will be "contaminated by consumerism" if they travel to Britain to recuperate. Lukashenko holds on to the contradictory belief of all communists, that a whole country can learn to love forced deprivation and poverty.
This proves again that you can show a communist the way to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and he'll just shut the door and station an armed guard. It also proves there is no such thing as a former communist.
