Al Qaeda Kills Algerian Envoys

How does anyone argue that Muslims or Arabs are unified given the knowledge that they primarily kill each other everyday?

From Bloomberg.com:
Two Algerian diplomats taken captive in Iraq last week were killed, their government and the United Nations confirmed today.

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan told reporters in New York that the envoys had been slain and he called their deaths "senseless and brutal." Annan said such "barbaric" violence should spur governments to reach a comprehensive agreement aimed at combating terrorism. Algeria's ambassador to the UN, Abdallah Baali, also confirmed the murders.

A statement posted on a Web site by al-Qaeda in Iraq, led by the Jordanian fugitive Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, said the diplomats were killed because of the repression of Muslims in their country, according to the Associated Press. Balarousi Ali, Algeria's charge d'affaires, or chief of mission, and Azzedine Ben Kadi, were dragged from their car July 21 by gunmen in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital.
So, quite predictably, Zarqawi selects from his shopping cart an appropriate reason for killing the envoys. This time, the murders are blamed on the repression of Muslims in Algeria. Forgive me, but to the best of my knowledge, I don't think the U.S. has been repressing Muslims in Algeria. The only logic that makes sense, across the board, for terror is that it is what maniacal, murderous thugs do. No less than criminals commit crimes, murderous thugs commit murder.
