Flying Hooters
(Atlanta) While airline industry leaders are financially puckered, some in bankruptcy, one company has developed a business model that bucks the trend. Hooters Air is operating profitably and growing steadily. Launched in the post-9/11 travel doldrums, Hooters now flies to 15 destinations, offering passengers competitively-priced one-class service with leather seats and roomier legroom than other carriers.
Hooters flies 737s and 757s staffed with trained flight attendants augmented by scantily-clad waitresses in snug tank tops and orange hot pants who, I understand, are not allowed in the forward cockpit.
