Handcuffed Man in Wheelchair Steals Police Car

(Rialto, California) Wheelchair-bound Anthony Moreno, 44, was arrested and placed in cuffs for trying to steal an electric saw from Home Depot. He was put into a patrol car and his wheelchair was placed in the trunk. And, then, according to Rialto Police Sgt. Randy DeAnda,
That's when Moreno pulled a Houdini act, sloughing off his handcuffs and crawling through the window in the security barrier that separates the front and back seats, DeAnda said.

Moreno then used his good leg to speed away.

Rialto police launched a citywide manhunt, employing the assistance of several law enforcement agencies, including the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, which searched from the sky.

The patrol car was not found until a Bloomington resident phoned Rialto police about 6 p.m. The black-and-white had been dumped in the 9000 block of Wisteria Avenue in Bloomington. The trunk was popped, and the wheelchair was gone.
Moreno continues to be at large in a wheelchair with one good leg. He is considered armed and dangerous and noticeable. He's also a parolee with a $200,000 warrant issued for his arrest.
