Teacher Pleads Not Guilty to Sex with 9-Year-Old Boy

(Sylvester, Georgia) A 24-year-old third-grade teacher at Holley Elementary School, Georgianne Harrell, pleaded not guilty to 24 charges of child molestation and reckless conduct involving students in her class. During the period from August 2004 and May 2005, Harrell allegedly performed oral sex on a 9-year-old boy, let students peek down her blouse, and ultimately slashed her wrists with glass in front of the class. If convicted of the charges against her, Harrell could be sentenced to life in prison.

Every week it seems that a new variant of the basic sex pervert is being prosecuted. As a consequence, I've become jaded, no longer surprised at the depths of depravity that are regularly exposed in society. Fortunately, my outrage has not diminished, both at the perverts and at the criminal justice system that, all too often, just imposes a hand slap.
