ACLU Wants Jesus Censored

Jay Stephenson of Stop The ACLU is getting the word out on the story of the ACLU attacking the Fredericksburg City Council and efforts by one councilman, Hashmel Turner, to fight back.

The ACLU threatened to sue the Fredericksburg City Council if it didn't change its prayer policy to eliminate references to Jesus Christ, which it did. Notably, the ACLU in all cases attacks only Christian prayer while allowing other beliefs. On this basis, Turner filed suit claiming the new prayer policy violates his constitutional rights.

Filed in the U.S. District Court in Richmond, Turner's lawsuit calls the new prayer policy "an unlawful attempt by the City Council to prescribe the content of prayers given at City Council meetings by Turner and other members of City Council." Turner seeks no damages. He only wants to say Jesus Christ at the end of the prayer. More details on the Turner case are here. Go visit.
