(Chichibu, Japan) Over the past few years at least, Japan has been experiencing a chronic problem with groups of young adults getting together for communal suicide sessions. Typically, they seal themselves up in a parked car and inhale carbon momoxide. Within a day or two, somebody finds them and authorities are notified. Here's the latest occurrence.
From MDM:
Six people were found dead in a van parked on a forest road, apparently after they gassed themselves to death by burning briquettes to release toxic carbon monoxide gas.Rest in peace, you dummies.
Investigators said a resident living in the area spotted the vehicle at about 9:15 a.m. on Friday and contacted police. When officers arrived, they found the bodies of five men and one woman inside.
All of the victims were thought to be in their 20s. Police are trying to confirm their identities.
Police said the woman was sitting in the middle of the front row of seats. The five men were sitting in the driver's seat, the passenger's seat, and the back of the vehicle.
Four portable stoves had been placed near the back seat.
