Illegals Being Flown to Mexico City

You can bet the American taxpayer pays for all this.

For the third straight summer, federal officials are flying some undocumented immigrants back to the Mexican interior after they've been caught crossing into Arizona.

The first repatriation flight this year carried 67 people Friday morning - all considered at risk to their health if they were to try crossing the desert again and all volunteers - to Mexico City.

From there, they were to be bused to destinations near their homes in central and southern Mexico, officials said.

The program targets women, including pregnant women, children, and those at risk of dying in the desert if they try to cross the border again. The thinking is that the illegals won't just turn around and try to cross the border again if they are deposited in the middle of Mexico.

Last year, I overheard a conversation at a local coffee shop where a customer mentioned that he supported the repatriation flights and had sent President Bush a recommendation on how to make them more effective. He suggested rerouting the flight paths over the Gulf of California and pushing half the illegals out of the plane. The passengers not pushed out of the plane would be repatriated and tell their friends of the new program. The customer said he thinks the enhanced repatriation program would deter some Mexicans from wanting to sneak into the U.S.

I think the guy was trying to be funny. Another guy called him a jerk.
