Buried in the Desert for Honor

(Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) A 20-year-old woman was murdered by her brother and buried in the desert outside Riyadh according to Al-Watan newspaper (no link).

From ArabNews.com:
The family of the dead woman kept the murder a secret for nearly three weeks while police conducted an intensive operation to look for her. Finally the father of the girl confessed that his son had killed her to protect family honor.

Police collected evidence and then arrested the youth who told police exactly what he had done and led them to the place where he had buried his sister.
No name nor reason was disclosed. It probably was just a normal everyday honor killing. Makes me sick.

Furthermore, why is it that only women are victims of honor killings? I've yet to hear of a man being killed for honor. That's odd since half the population is male. One would imagine that at least a few have been able to besmirch the family's honor.
