(Elk River, Minnesota) In June, 29-year-old foster mother Jennifer Diane Anderson pleaded guilty in Sherburne County District Court to engaging in multiple acts of sex with her 15-year-old foster son over an extended period of time.
Yesterday, Anderson was sentenced.
From TwinCities.com:
Sherburne County District Judge Karla Hancock had harsh words for what she characterized as the woman's "absolute denial" before giving her almost 3 1/2 years in prison. The maximum sentence she could have received for third-degree criminal sexual conduct was four years.Anderson's absolute refusal to accept responsibility for her actions likely prompted Judge Hancock to ignore any serious mitigation of her sentence.

The evaluations of Anderson found she didn't show remorse, empathy or accountability; "tends to blame others for her difficulties;" and is a charming person on the surface but manipulative underneath, Emmans said. [County Attorney Leah Emmans]
