Teacher Pleads in Lewdness with Student Case
(Bakersfield, California) In May, 27-year-old math teacher at Highland High School, Ann Elizabeth Miller, was arrested for allegedly engaging in sex acts with a 15-year-old male high school student. She was booked into jail for one count of lewd acts with a child 14 or 15 years of age and 10 years younger than herself.
In court today, Miller pleaded no contest to a felony count of lewd conduct and a misdemeanor count of showing harmful manner to a minor. Although a sentencing date wasn't reported, Miller faces up to a year in jail, registration as a sex offender and permanent loss of teaching credentials.
Her lawyer, Gael Mueller, stated that Miller has an emotional disorder. She didn't explain the disorder.

Ann Elizabeth Miller has been sentenced to one year in jail and three years probation. She must also register as a sex offender and is barred by the court from teaching.
