Yesterday, Overstreet pleaded guilty in accordance with a deal struck with the Fremont County District Attorney's Office.
From KOAA.com:
She admitted guilt on two counts of sexual assault on a child. In exchange 17 other charges against her will be dropped. Authorities arrested Overstreet last spring just after she resigned her job as an elementary school teacher. She will be sentenced next month.Under her plea deal, she's looking at anywhere from two years to life in prison.
Offhand, I'd guess she'll be sentenced to seven years in prison with half of it suspended. With good behavior and credit for time served, she'll see three years maximum behind bars. I hope my guess is wrong. Unfortunately, that's the way the female teacher cookie crumbles.
[Update 11/24/06]
Overstreet sentenced.
