Sex Offender Veronica Bullock Gets 5 Years - Updated

From AZStarnet.com:
[Pima County Superior Court Judge Nanette Warner] revoked the probation after Bullock admitted she’d used drugs and alcohol and had been kicked out of a residential treatment program.

Prosecutor Shawn Jensvold argued that based on Bullock’s "lack of commitment to probation, she’s clearly not a good candidate."

Bullock will receive credit for 64 days served.
Five years in prison was the original request of the prosecution before Judge Warner gave Bullock probation. Heh.

[Previous 5/20/08 entry]
(Tucson, Arizona) In October 2006, a local mother of two, Veronica Bullock, 29, was sentenced to 30 days in jail for sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy.

Yesterday, Pima County Superior Court Judge Nanette Warner heard Bullock admit to violating the terms of her probation. Specifically, Bullock had used methamphetamine, consumed alcohol and been kicked out of a residential treatment program.

As a result, Bullock faces a possible seven years in prison when Judge Warner announces her decision, scheduled for June 6.

If Bullock is sent to prison, it may make up for the ridiculously lenient original sentence she received.

[Previous 10/13/06 entry]
(Tucson, Arizona) In December 2005, 26-year-old Tucson mother of two, Veronica Bullock, was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy at the Brewster Center, a domestic violence shelter.

In September, Bullock pleaded guilty to a reduced docket of one count of sexual abuse of a minor in accordance with a deal offered by the prosecution.

Today, Bullock was sentenced to 30 days in jail by Pima County Superior Court Judge Nanette Warner. Warner also ordered Bullock to register as a sex offender and serve probation. The prosecutor, Nanette Morrow, had asked for five years in prison.

A 26-year-old woman is convicted of sex abuse of a 12-year-old boy and gets 30 days! How could anyone consider the punishment fits the crime?
