Teacher Gets 240 Days Jail in Schoolgirl Sex Case - Updated

(Murrieta, California) Franca Munoz-Juvera, 27, was led away in handcuffs after being sentenced to 240 days in jail and five years of probation. She was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Her twin sister, Antonia Munoz-Juvera, who taught chemistry at Lakeside High, and the twin's girlfriend, Eileen Valerio, 19, pleaded guilty to being accessories to a crime, a misdemeanor.

They were sentenced to four months in jail on a work release program and three years probation for helping arrange to have the girl spend the night with Franca.

The victim's parent were disappointed with the sentencing, believing that all three women deserved to be charged with the same crimes and sent to prison.

(Riverside County, California) In December 2006, twin female teachers at Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore, Franca and Antonia Munoz-Juvera, were arrested, along with their roommate, Eileen Valerio, in a sex jackpot involving a 16-year-old female student.

The 16-year-old girl's father originally alerted authorities in September 2006 after finding inappropriate email message between Franca Munoz-Juvera and his daughter. The father later provided taped recordings of telephone conversations containing sexual overtones between the two and the Sheriff's Department commenced an investigation.

Last Friday, 27-year-old math teacher Franca Munoz-Juvera pleaded guilty to one count of lewd acts with a minor for sexual molestation of the female student.

According to Riverside County court records, Munoz-Juvera told authorities that she loves the girl but knew it was inappropriate to have a sexual relationship with her student.

The student told investigators that they kissed while in a Lakeside High School classroom during school hours and had sexual contact with each other, according to court records.

Therefore, Franca Munoz-Juvera knew that loving her was wrong but she didn't want to be right. As a result, Franca faces up to three years in prison when she is sentenced on June 6. Judge John M. Monterosso said she would also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.

Franca's twin sister, chemistry teacher Antonia Munoz-Juvera and the roommate, 20-year-old Eileen Elizabeth Valerio, both pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of accessory after the fact for their involvement in the molestation.

Antonia Munoz-Juvera and Valerio helped arrange for the student to spend the night with Franca Munoz-Juvera, according to court records.

They drove the student from her home in Riverside County to their Rancho Cucamonga apartment, and coached the girl on ways of deceiving her parents, the records show.

Antonia Munoz-Juvera and Eileen Valerio each face a possible one year in jail when sentenced on June 6.
