(Glenwood Springs, Colorado) On Dec. 18, 32-year-old English teacher at Elizabeth High School, Darcie Esson, was arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a 17-year-old student who is on the school football team. She was charged with felony sexual assault on a child by a person in position of trust and released on $25,000 bail.
In preparation for court, Esson has retained high-profile attorney Pamela Mackey for legal counsel. Mackey previously represented Los Angeles Laker basketball star Kobe Bryant in a 2003 alleged rape case in which charges were ultimately dismissed.
Does anyone else question how a teacher, on a teacher's salary, is able to afford such expensive legal help?
