Pilot Collapses, Dies In-Flight

"Houston, we have a problem!"

(McAllen, Texas) Yesterday, Continental Flight 1838 took off from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston bound for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A few minutes into the flight, the pilot collapsed and the passengers were alerted. One passenger described the episode:
"The co-pilot came over on the loud speaker saying if there was a doctor on board and after about 10-15 minutes they asked if there was a pilot on board."
According to Continental spokeswoman Macky Osorio, it's believed the pilot, whose name was not immediately released, died of natural causes. The flight, carrying 210 passengers, was diverted to McAllen International Airport and later continued to Mexico with a different crew.
