From Cleveland: Suspected Terror Plot

Breaking news!

(Cleveland, Ohio) A Jordanian national named Hasem Qasem allegedly was recruited to be a suicide bomber by former spiritual leader at the Islamic Center of Cleveland, Fawaz Damra, and another man.

Targets were identified as possibly Texas, New York and Cleveland. The story broke on Cleveland's 19ActionNews station earlier today.

Qasem is currently in jail on charges that he robbed a convenience store. Qasem denies the charges. According to reporter Ed Gallek who has been in discussions with Qasem, the FBI is involved and a hold was put on the story until tonight. It's now believed that authorities are seeking to deport Qasem.

Damra was stripped of his U.S. citizenship and deported to the West Bank for immigration violations. He was generally known as a terrorist sympathizer, fundraiser and recruiter who lied about his ties. Damra was taken into custody by Israeli authorities and later released.

The investigation continues.
